Origami develops fine-motor skills, hand -eye coordination whilst building concentration spans, especially for younger children.

With all these benefits, there's no reason this technique shouldn't be embraced as an official educational tool.

We are conveniently located in Turramurra and currently open Saturdays.

Pearlomatic Origami Japanese School provides separate weekly classes and holiday workshops for children and adults/teenagers as well as origami themed birthday party. We are also working on expanding our service, Japanese lessons.

Eligibility for a Creative Kids Voucher

Our school is a NSW approved Creative Kids Provider.

You can apply for a $50 Creative Kids Voucher if you did not use a $100 voucher between 1 January 2023 and the expiry date of 30 June 2023.

* The Creative Kids Voucher only accept for weekly classes and workshops, Not for birthday party.

Welcome to The Pearlomatic Origami Japanese School!

My name is Kyoko, I come from Japan and I am a mother of 2 beautiful daughters.

I also work as an Early Childhood Educator in Sydney.

I have always been interested in the arts and crafts, particularly making origami including origami jewellery.

I currently hold an approved NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a First Aid / CPR qualification.

I hope you or your child enjoys the craft of origami at my classes as much as I do.

PROGRAMS

Choose from a weekly class ,holiday workshop or birthday party

Weekly Saturday Morning Classes 2024

Our weekly one hour classes commence during the school terms in 2024. Please choose your preferred time.

* The classes will start 3 February 2024

Session 1 (10:00-11:00)

Session 2 (11:00-12:00)

Your child will learn basic folding techniques to create several different shapes with origami. They will be able to take home their creations.

The ideal age is 6 and upwards.

*The tuition fee must be paid per term in advance.

$350 per child / per term

Workshops December / January

Our holiday workshops commence during the school holidays. Please choose a date and time.

Junior Workshops: (1 hour)

Your child will learn basic folding techniques to create several different shapes with origami. The workshops will be themed on the National holiday event, for example, on Christmas holidays, the origami activities will be Christmas-themed.. They will be able to take home their creations.

The ideal age is 6 and upwards.

$50 per child including all materials

Tween & Teen Workshops: (2 hours)

We run origami earring classes for older children over the age of 11 years old.

Your child will learn to create origami earrings by using traditional Japanese origami techniques. After this, they will coat their creation with water-resistant resin to make the paper harden and prevent damage.

$95 per child including all materials and tools

Birthday party

Junior Origami Party:

Our origami themed birthday parties provide a unique and creative experience for children. The party will run for 1.5 hours and I will discuss with you regarding the session content beforehand, as your child can select up to 3 designs that we will make together at the birthday party.

The ideal age is 6 upwards. This party is suitable for small groups such as 6 people.

I will also provide a party bag for every child to take home at the end of the party.

Tween & Teen Origami Earrings Party:

The party will run for 2 hours. I will discuss with you regarding the session content beforehand as your child can select 1 design that we will make together at the birthday party, Your child will also learn to coat your creation for water-resistant.

The ideal age is 11 and upwards. This party is suitable for small groups such as 6 people.

Notes

The Approved Creative Kids Provider only accept for weekly classes and workshops, Not for birthday party. We no longer offer catering at the birthday party program, however you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

All materials and tools are provided during the programs.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Weekly Classes: No refunds will be made for any cancellation or for non-attendance, however, a credit of your payment can be issued to transfer for holiday workshops.

Workshops: Event bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled two weeks prior to the event. No refunds will be made for any cancellation made less than two weeks before the event or for non-attendance at the event. However, a credit of your payment can be issued if rescheduling an event.

Birthday Party Program: A deposit of half the total birthday party cost is required to reserve a party.

We do not offer refunds on your deposit, however a credit of your deposit can be issued if rescheduling an event.
